What is Mastic Gum?

Why I Love Mastic

I first found mastic in ice cream and rice pudding. It was a unique and subtle flavour I did not know what to compare to, then realised it could be chewed on its own or used in cooking. Now I source it directly from growers in Chios.

What is Mastic Gum?

Mastic gum is a natural resin from mastic trees on the island of Chios in Greece, where it is still harvested by hand. It has been used for thousands of years, finding its way into desserts, ice cream, and everyday cooking. You can also chew it on its own, just as a natural gum.
